Where did you begin your career in dental?
Curiosity led me to my career in dentistry. When I was in 11th grade in Georgia, I asked my dentist so many questions that he finally offered me a job working after school as a dental assistant. I liked it so much that I eventually entered a dental hygiene program upon graduating from high school.
How did you begin pursuing an alternative career to clinical dental hygiene?
After practicing clinical dental hygiene full time for five years, I began exploring alternatives and I accepted a position as Coordinator of Perio Research at Emory University. During my tenure at Emory, I worked closely with a company representative on a research project and through that network was offered my first sales position.
What choices and actions helped you get to where you are today?
Constantly evaluating when I was at my best in my work environment, being curious, furthering my education and networking with anyone I met that was in a non-clinical position has served me well my entire career.
What does your position as the General Manager of a Strategic Business Unit entail? |
As the General Manager for the Preventive Strategic Business Unit, I am responsible for the global strategy and marketing of three product categories.
What do you love about your position? |
I really enjoy working with a dynamic team of people who are all committed to our vision of improving lives through better dentistry - smile after smile. In addition, I really love the exploration of what's next on the horizon.
