Student Trade-In Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is there only one designated liaison for each dental hygiene class?

A: In an effort to reduce shipping costs we designate only one liaison for each class to consolidate the group order.  If separate orders are placed, then we must charge standard shipping and handling.  Having one student liaison makes the process easier for all parties and is cost effective.

Q: Can I trade-in non-Hu-Friedy product?

A: Yes, we at Hu-Friedy want to support you during your clinical board exams by insuring that you have the ultimate instrument set up. We want you to have confidence in your ability to do your best knowing you have instruments in the optimal condition to use. 

Q. Do we have to pay tax?

A: Some states require tax to be added to your order.  Please contact your local Hu-Friedy Schools and Institutions Manager for further information.   

Q. Can I have my instruments color coded?

A. We typically do not do special color coding on these instruments because it can delay the shipping and usually most students are in a hurry to get them. You can however take off your rings from the instruments you will be sending in and put them on your new ones or you can purchase additional rings.

Q. If I trade in a Gracey 5/6 do I have to get that same instrument?

A: No you do not need to secure the exact same instrument, you can substitute another instrument of like value. 

Q. Can I get any handle that I want? Even if I am not trading that kind in?

A: Yes, you can subsitute any handle option available in that instrument pattern.
